History and Architecture
The Dukes’ Palace Brugge (Bruges in Dutch) isn’t just a hotel; it’s a testament to Bruges’ rich history. Once the residence of the Burgundian aristocracy, this unique five-star hotel stands tall in the heart of the UNESCO World Heritage city of Bruges.
The architecture is a marvel, reflecting the authentic elegance of the 15th century. With 135 rooms, each distinct in its design, the hotel seamlessly blends the grandeur of the past with modern comforts.
A Room to Remember
The room I stayed in was a superior room, and it was nothing short of splendid. High ceilings, original features, and a rich decor transported me back in time, while amenities like air conditioning and a minibar ensured a comfortable stay. The spacious marble bathroom added a touch of luxury that was hard to resist.
One of the standout features of the hotel room is its view. I had a breathtaking view of both cities and the 3000 m² garden of the hotel. The sight of meticulously manicured lawns, blooming flowers, and the morning sun filtering through the trees was the perfect start to my day.
A Bird’s Eye View from the Belfry of Bruges
During my stay, I decided to visit the iconic Belfry Tower of Bruges in the city center. Climbing its steps was a journey in itself, but the view from the top was unparalleled. As I looked over the city, I could spot the majestic Dukes’ Palace Brugge, standing tall amidst the historic landscape of Bruges. It was a surreal moment, seeing the place I was staying at from such a vantage point.
My stay at Dukes’ Palace Brugge was an experience I’ll cherish forever. From its historic architecture to its modern amenities, from the magnificent garden to the delicious breakfast, every moment was special. If you’re planning a trip to Bruges, I can’t recommend this place enough. It’s not just a stay; it’s a journey through time.
